Two people, two charts

Your love planets explain your side of a story. Synastry puts both birth charts together and shows where they support and where they test each other. Sun-sign matching is the quick, playful version of the same idea.

Love planets in astrology

In a birth chart every planet stands for a part of life. Three of them speak most directly about relationships. Venus is the planet of attraction and affection: your taste, your way of showing care and what makes you feel appreciated. Mars is drive and desire: how you go after someone, how you flirt and how you fight. The Moon is emotional need: the comfort you look for, the moods you live with and the kind of home you want to build.

These planets move faster than people expect. The Moon changes sign every two and a half days, Venus every few weeks and Mars roughly every six weeks, which is why two people born in the same month can love very differently. When one of them changes sign on your birthday, the birth time decides your placement.

Astrologers often compare these placements between partners. One person's Venus meeting the other's Mars is a classic picture of attraction; two Moons show whether daily life feels comfortable. None of this predicts the future of a couple. It gives words to differences, so they can be talked about instead of fought over.
